Real Mexican Food. So says the sign front and center at La Hacienda Taqueria in San Rafael. Bright and friendly inside, it also has an outside patio the length of the building which was noticeably popular. The staff smiled and attended to us right away.
Dad tried the chicken tamale, and chicken tostada combination, and said it was good enough to come back for.
I tried the arroz con pollo, which was tender and had fresh vegetables sauteed to perfection. It was a huge portion and I brought left overs home for a second meal. With these kind of fresh plates, well seasoned, served in clean an bright surroundings you can bet we'll be back!

quelles superbes assiettes!!! biiiises micky
I would whole heartedly warn anyone about eating at the La Hacienda restaurant, especially the one in Novato.
Two Words : GIGANTIC RATS !
Unfortunatley I live in the same neighborhood as the Novato store and all I have to say is look behind the restaurant and see how they handle their garbage situation and note all the RAT bait boxes around the building and then look at all the open vent ways they have.
Our neighborhood has been plagued with RATS and it has much to do with the way in which this restaurant mishandles its garbage.
It is TOTALLY DISGUSTING.
LOOK FOR YOURSELVES. IT IS GROSS .
Aparently, you have to be a little more educated on rats. Those bait stations are for preventative, not because they are in fested. Maybe you should video tape the building at night and see for yourself! Do some research about this county and find out why they are not poisoning the sewer lines for the past twenty years. Research first, than talk later. This restaurant is clean inside and you can not put the blame on one tenant. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!
