Rain-split tomatoes
It's what happens when tomatoes get too much water. The tomato season is waning anyway, but there were a few tomatoes still ripening and happy on the vine. When I got up and checked the deck after the drenching we got Saturday, I found that even some of the green tomatoes had split their jackets. So we had a few fresh split red sweet millions on our salad for lunch and I think the 'extreme local' tomato season is officially over for 2008.

It sure lets you know when it comes to an end, doesn't it?
Congratulations on your harvest this year.
