Girls night out on the Presidio. I met a former co-worker for some socializing at the Presidio Social Club. Didn't take my camera as it was not a blogging venue, but we both enjoyed our food so much I wanted to share. After we started by sharing the grilled artichoke half with a splash of lemon (yum), my friend had the Award Winning Berkshire Pork Slow Roasted, served with Oyster Hash. The oyster hash was rice stir fried with oysters. The pork was tender and flavorful. I had the Idaho Trout with Almond Brown Butter, while we shared a side of grilled asparagus and green beans. The trout was perfection and the asparagus added a nice spring green touch. We shared a bottle of Solex Chardonnay from the Russian River area, which had a nice pear tinge to it. We kept wanting to talk, so we indulged in sharing a dessert pairing of Brioche Beignets, and rhubarb sorbet over sliced strawberries. Hot and cold -- delicious!
Not wanting to complete the evening, with chatter left inside, we walked across the green grounds of the Presidio, out the Lombard Gate and across the street to Liverpool Lil's. We enjoyed a glass of chardonnay, but slowly, as we continued catching up. Nice English pub atmosphere and cordial people.
