Oh la la! What a convivial and warm atmosphere at Christophe's in Sausalito! Chef Pierre and Sabine worked the room to give a full house a wonderful dining experience. The Early Bird Prix Fixe dinner is quite a bargain at $15.75 for four courses.

My menu for the evening was:
MOUSSE DE FOIE DE CANARD AU PORTO-Duck liver mousse with a port wine aspic
MIXED GREEN SALAD
FILET DE SOLE MEUNIERE-Sauteed sole filet in lemon butter sauce
PROFITEROLES AU CHOCOLAT-Puffed pastries filled with vanilla ice cream topped with hot chocolate sauce
accompanied by a glass of Lillet Blanc

When you enter a restaurant and soon notice that over half the room is conversing in French, you know you've come to the right place for French food. A large table of eight in the center was having a singing (literally) good time, while a cute couple in the corner were engaged in serious lip-lock. Immediately in front of me was a French father with a darling girl no older than three on his lap happily sharing some duck liver pate while engaged in baby talk French. The atmosphere embraced it all and it looked like everyone was having a great time, including me! Oh, and the food was excellent.
