Don't judge a book. Hidden away in a strip mall in Larkspur near Fukuzuke is a new casual Italian eatery that opens early for breakfast every day! Cafe Lucano is so unassuming, but when you step inside the staff is friendly and the place is well cared for and you can just tell...
I was tempted by a watermelon Italian Soda. Each table had a clean, folded and squared up Examiner for your reading enjoyment. Everything was so orderly and inviting!
Next I had a Caprese Salad. Very fresh and tender mozzarella slices between fresh tomatoes (this will be even better when tomato season comes again) topped with fresh slivers of basil and olive oil, salt & pepper.
I was still hungry, so I ordered their pizza slices special - cheese pizza and a soft drink for $4. The pizza was made with a FRESH tomato sauce, and it tasted like it. Very good, and a generous portion. Since I'd already a soda I took a can out of the cooler for break time in the afternoon. I'll be back sometime to check out the breakfast in particular another time.
