Still charming and delicious
I grabbed a quick lunch at Strawberry Gourmet Delicatessen in Mill Valley a few days ago, enjoying the outside tables in perfect summer weather. I was happy to see that now there is an 'official' breakfast with things like omelets every day from 7 a.m. My last visit there was no breakfast menu other than pastries and they were very accommodating to invent something for me.
I ordered a Falafel Wrap. There is a choice between a wrap style and pita style falafel. The wraps style and filling were great. I'm sure I'll be back for this! Sometimes surprises happen when you randomly sit outside. A friend, Susan, who I hadn't been in contact with for a couple of years walked by and we got that start of recognition at the same time. Susan sat down and we had quite an enjoyable chat!

Name change but very similar
I was at The Cove shopping center in Tiburon at lunchtime the other day. I noticed that "Let's Eat" has become Foodniks. The format and offerings are quite similar, deli sandwiches with a wonderful array of inventive salads, with refrigerated cases holding take out and bake yourself type entrees. The counter space seems to have expanded, and the end caps lean toward more practical offerings than the previous business.
I tried the special on the blackboard, a simple egg salad sandwich. I paired it with a cous cous salad with fresh sweet corn and mushrooms. Both were several cuts above typical deli fare. The black current unsweeted ice tea was refreshing and I'd stop by just for it if in the neighborhood again. I suspect this would be a great place to have an office lunch catered from.

Tried and True
Max's Cafe in Corte Madera has recently rolled back breakfast time to an hour earlier, so you can enjoy a big Max's breakfast 7 days a week from 7 a.m.
There are encouragements to eat all around, so if you're dieting - beware!
Dad's fancy was the Ham and Four Cheese Omelet with Hash Browns. There was nothing skimpy about this huge fluffy omelet with chunky slices of ham tucked throughout the center.
I remembered Jan's Eggs as being delicious and healthy. Made with all egg whites, it's not noticeable with the spinach, sweet onions and mushrooms scrambled in delicately. The portion was not lacking either.
The waiter warned us that the biscuits were still baking, and it would be a 10 minute wait if we wanted those as opposed to regular toast. Well, having had these before, we felt it well worth the wait. And it was. Large and fluffy they paired so well with a little butter melting into the center and some strawberry jam slathered on top. Max's has one of the best breakfasts in Marin, and for us it's a 'splurge' to go there with those large portions awaiting.

A nook rich with goodies. Dad and I made our way to Let's Eat Delicatessen to see what their offerings were like. There's a big whiteboard with sandwich choices, and behind glass around the prep area are various salads and other pretty items. Behind you in refrigerator/freezer space are all kinds of take out items to take and bake. It's full of food fun!
Dad and I decided to split a roast beef sandwich with horseradish cream and arugula and pair it up with salads and share an steamed artichoke. Dad chose a artichoke creole salad to accompany his half sandwich.
I chose a sesame noodle salad that had chicken, ham and walnuts to jazz it up. We put the artichoke on my plate as they only gave us two. This would be a great place to pack a picnic basket, or if you want to cook something more upscale that frozen Stouffers. It isn't set up very well for eating in, but there are three black metal tables inside, and a couple of smaller tables on the sidewalk outside.
