I believe I planted this broccoli from a start towards the end of September. It never died, but just didn't seem to grow much. In the sunny spurts we've had, it's grown a little, and finally is growing a flower that we can eventually eat. This is the largest of the six starts planted, and coincidentally has the biggest pot. I'm glad we were not counting on this winter vegetable for our food supply! It is interesting learning about how the various vegetables grow.
Well, it's cute as a button.
ReplyDeleteJust hang in there, and I think you'll be harvesting more tasty green little trees before long.
I had a so-so year for broc, so I'm assuming that's just the way it is.
I don't know much about growing broccoli but I believe that once you cut off the central floret, smaller ones will sprout from the sides, if that's any consolation...
ReplyDeleteI'll keep watering it.. I'm sure it will have to taste good when it's ready. Interesting about how new florets will come out the sides Zoomie.
ReplyDeleteneeds to be fertilized every 2 to 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anonymous, I was afraid of burning it, so now I know the proper interval, thanks to you!
